Viking Shield Combat

Earn your throne in Valhalla with Viking Shield Combat at Starrlight Mead. In this 60 minute workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of Viking swordsmanship, shield work, and shield formations. You'll practice them in drills, and then put them into practice by sparring! Expect to get a good workout and to experience a little bit of what it was like to fight in the front rank of a Viking-era shield wall.

Drills will be done with wooden shields and foam weapons. Sparring will be done with fencing masks, professional-grade foam safety swords, and foam shields. Must be at least 16 to participate. A glass of mead included in the cost of the class for participants 21 and over!
